Dual Credit Information
High school juniors and seniors attending a public high school within South Dakota may be eligible to participate in the dual credit program and receive both high school and college credit at a reduced rate of approximately $60 a credit. Course syllabi, workload, and grading procedures for courses are approved and monitored by the college or university issuing the credits. Each 3 credit college course equals 1 high school credit. Therefore students are required to meet the following qualifications in order to enroll in a dual credit course:
Juniors: ACT score of 24 or higher OR rank in upper 1/3 of class OR cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
Seniors: ACT score of 21 or higher OR rank in upper ½ of class OR cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
Continuing eligibility: GPA can not fall below 2.0 Cannot receive a W or F grade in dual credit course or regular high school course.
Registration due date: Spring 2025 dual credit is January 6th, 2025.
