Here are the jobs you will complete:
Job 1:
Read the story Ananse's Feast by Tololwa M. Mollel from your Scott
Foresman:
Picture This! text on page 14.
Job
2: Read Ananse's Feast to your "Reading Buddy".
You also will read the story to a
family member. Have a parent sign a form given to you by the teacher.
Job
3: Find the five comprehension check questions in your Scott
Foresman:
Picture This! on page 33. Use your own paper to complete your
questions. When you
are complete, be sure to hand in to the teacher.
Job
4: Now you will read another Ananse story. Choose a book
from the teacher's
library, or a story on the computer. Use only the folk
tale site the teacher has chosen.
Job 5:
Next, you will print off the worksheet
about parts of the story, and complete
it using the information from the story you choose. When you
are complete, be sure to
hand in to the teacher.
Job 6:
You will design a book cover for any Ananse story. Include the title
of the story
and the author(s), then let your creativity flow. Draw a picture
that shows an event
that happened in your story. You can get your paper from the teacher
and complete
your cover using markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Don't forget
to tell who
designed the cover.
Job 7:
You have worked very hard and deserve a special treat. To make a
spider
cookie, carefully break apart your sandwich cookie. For your legs,
place eight pieces of
licorice on the half of your cookie with frosting. Then place the
other half on top. Use
the frosting or peanut butter to attach the spider eyes to the top cookie.
Enjoy!
