Book: Algebra 1 Concepts and Skills, Larson, Boswell, Kanold, Stiff. McDougal Little, 2001
Course
Requirements:
Participation:
Your willing participation in all class activities
is expected.
Quizzes, Tests, and Quests: Quizzes will be given at the teacher’s discretion. There will be adequate notice for major tests. Pretests and Posttests may be used to measure progress.
Daily
Homework: I expect everyone to do all daily assignments.
Answers to the odd questions are in the back of the book.
I expect you to use them appropriately.
(After doing your assignment, check the answers; correct if
necessary.) Show your work.
A list of answers is unacceptable.
Unacceptable papers will be redone.
Vocabulary List/Notes: You will be expected to take notes over any new material. If your vocabulary list is complete, notes should be minimal. You will be expected to keep a written vocabulary list which will include the definition of the words you feel are important. A complete list of vocabulary words and their definitions can the basis of your notes taken while reading or in class. This notebook of terms should be organized semi-alphabetically (in other words, words that begin with “a” are on the “a” page, etc.; they are not necessarily alphabetized within the letter grouping) This will be checked periodically and collected on the day of the test. Your notebook will be graded on content, completeness (this includes words from all previous chapters) and neatness. I expect you to keep ALL vocabulary lists in the folder provided. Don’t take this lightly. It can have a great impact on your final grade.
