GRADING
PLANE GEOMETRY
ALL
LETTER GRADES WILL BE ASSIGNED ACCORDING TO THE SCHOOL APPROVED GRADING POLICY.
The
numerical grade in this class will be calculated on the following basis:
40%--TESTS, QUIZZES & QUESTS: This
will include any assessments such as final tests, unit tests, quests, and
quizzes (both announced and surprise).
20%--DAILY WORK: All homework should be
kept in a notebook or folder in an orderly fashion.
All papers from the current unit are to be gathered together, put in
the folder provided, and handed in on test day.
20%--NOTES/VOCABULARY: A
complete list of vocabulary words and their definitions will become the basis of
your notes taken while reading or in class.
They should be clipped in the center of your folder.
Students are expected
to keep an up-to-date notebook of terms organized semi-alphabetically (in other
words, words that begin with “a” are on the “a” page, etc.; they are not
necessarily alphabetized within the letter grouping)
Your notebook will be graded on content, completeness and
neatness. Don’t take this
lightly. It can have a great impact
on your final grade.
10%--THEOREM LIST: You will be expected to keep a typed (or handwritten) list of theorems and postulates in your notebook. It should start with the first theorem/postulate and be kept continuously through the year.
10%--ATTITUDE: Mrs. Gomer’s opinion
shaped by your behavior and productive participation in the class.
It includes your willingness to follow classroom rules and make this
class a good educational experience for everyone involved.
Everyone starts with an “A”. You
determine where it goes from there.
This
grading process may be altered to fit changes in the curriculum.
“Good,
Better, Best . .
Never let it
rest . . .
‘Til your
good is better,
And your better
is best.”
