GRADING

ALGEBRA I-9

ALL LETTER GRADES WILL BE ASSIGNED ACCORDING TO THE SCHOOL APPROVED GRADING POLICY.

The numerical grade in this class will be calculated on the following basis:

40%--TESTS, QUIZZES & QUESTS:  This will include any assessments such as final tests, unit tests, quests, and quizzes (both announced and surprise).

30%--DAILY WORK:  All homework should be kept in a notebook or folder in an orderly fashion.  All papers from the current chapter are to be gathered together, put in the folder provided, and handed in on test day.

20%--NOTES/VOCABULARY:  A complete list of vocabulary words and their definitions can the basis of your notes taken while reading or in class.  This notebook of terms should be organized semi-alphabetically (in other words, words that begin with “a” are on the “a” page, etc.; they are not necessarily alphabetized within the letter grouping)   This will be checked periodically and collected on the day of the test.   Your notebook will be graded on content, completeness (this includes words from all previous chapters) and neatness. I expect you to keep ALL vocabulary lists in the folder provided.   Don’t take this lightly.  It can have a great impact on your final grade.

10%--ATTITUDE:  Mrs. Gomer’s opinion shaped by your behavior and productive participation in the class.  It includes your willingness to follow classroom rules and make this class a good educational experience for everyone involved.  Everyone starts with an “A”.  You determine where it goes from there.

This grading process may be altered to fit changes in the curriculum.

And your better is best.”
