Little Books

GRADE LEVEL:  Any

PURPOSE:  To create a small book for recording data or journaling.

KEY WORDS:   Book, journal, data collection

MATERIALS:  8.5 X 11 in plain white paper, Little Book Instruction Sheet

PROCEDURE:  

1. Fold an 8.5" X 11" sheet in half hamburger (the short way).
2. Open up and fold in half hot dog (the long way).
3.  Refold the hamburger and then fold hamburger again.  The paper should now be in eighths.  Press all creases firmly.
4. Open completely.  Fold hamburger.
5. Hold on the fold and tear from the folded edge to the center point along a fold.
6. Open sheet and refold in half hotdog.
7. Push the two ends toward the center.
8. Flatten the folded sheet around itself to form a book.

ASSESSMENT:  Assessment is the successful completion of a book.
